There are many sharks out there, but some just completely stand out of the pack. Take the Tasseled Wobbegong for example. Its skin has blotched patterns and sticky-out tassels- as per the shark's name- which helps the Wobbegong disguise itself with a coral reef. Its method of hunting? Well, by impersonating a patch of coral, the shark doesn't get noticed by unwarned and soon-to-be prey. In a split second, the shark launches out of its "hiding place" and strikes its target. On this page, you will see some truly mesmerizing and one-of-a-kind creatures.
1) The Shortfin Mako
This is by far the fastest shark on the planet, reaching speeds of up to 70 kilometers per hour. Its sleek body design helps it to reach such high speeds in short bursts of time.
2) The Bull Shark
This species is one of the very few sharks which live purely in fresh water. One individual shark was found and caught in 1963 near Peru, approximately 4,000 kilometers away from the Atlantic Ocean. They are also commonly found in the Amazon River, which also happens to be the longest river in the world.
These sharks are also considered to be the most aggressive sharks on Earth, which makes them one of the top 3 dangerous sharks on the planet.
3) The Greenland Shark
This shark is most commonly encountered in the waters surrounding Greenland, as the name suggests, and also happens to be one of the longest living creatures in the animal kingdom, let alone shark-kind. The oldest recorded specimen appears to be 512 years of age when it was eventually captured only just recently.
